![]() The superb way to transform your bathroom... even on the ceiling! Made from high quality U-PVC, impact modified and scrylic coated to give a tough resiliant surface. Decorative cladding has all the aesthetically pleasing appearance and wipe clean practicality of tile with the added advantage of being very simple and quick to install.
The simplicity of installation provides the advantage of not having to use highly skilled labour, and providing the backgound is flat the cladding can be adhered directly to the wall, removing the necessity to render. Decorative cladding can give a cost-saving of up to 50% on conventional tiling. To ensure a waterproof seal, an approved silicone sealant should be used on the joints between lead and trailing edge, where it will be effective without being visible. If preferred, a sealant can be used instead of profiles to finish corners.
The 1-2-3 system for extended possibilities of application
The 1-2-3 system of cladding offers extended possibilities for interior application. It is stylish to create a flush effect where the lines between the different panels can hardly be seen. The channel infills and infills that are available in several colours create the opportunity to obtain different effects on walls and ceilings by giving the cladding a superb finishing touch. A Flush Effect ![]() No infills are used, the different panels are interlocked into one another. This creates a flush effect on the wall.

Planning Unless the cladding is to be fixed using battens, an allowance of the board thickness (10mm) from the face of the background to the face of the cladding needs to be made when determining the lining dimension required at door and window reveals. If the background is badly out of line and battening is to be used the additional allowance will have to be made. Integrity of Contruction All joints in the masonry background should be filled. If cladding is fitted using battens, joints between all butting elements and the masonry background, unless well fitted, should be filled. The background must be sound, dry and in good condition. If using battening as the method of securing the cladding and thus creating a cavity, then any surface fittings or penetration of services should be sealed where they pass through the lining as they are installed. Long runs of cladding on external walls using this method should allow for cavity barriers in order to restrict air flow Services Construction using battening allows for services to be incorporated between the background and the cladding without the need of extensive chasing. Pipes, cables and conduits should be in place before the cladding work commences. ![]()
Insulation
Insulation can be further enhanced be installing glass-fibre or expanded polystyrene between wall or ceiling and the cladding.
Thermal properties This product is a lightweight material and has a low thermal conductivity and specific heat. In conditions of intermittent heating this product will warm up quickly, providing early comfort conditions for the occupants, and will help reduce the risk of surface condensation. Limitations Abrasive agents must not be used. PVC will react to certain solvent adhesives. Masking or other adhesive tapes applied to the printed surface is not recommended since the printed pattern may be removed. This product may suffer from some distortion if placed in front of, or adjacent to a cooker of fire etc. Prolonged exposure to ultra violet light will cause this product to fade. Fixing Details The panels are interlocking, the lead or round edge dovetailing into it's predecessors U-shaped or trailing edge. Installation begins by cutting the initial edging or corner profile to height and fixing it to the wall (or ceiling) to be clad. The first panel is similarly cut, its rounded edge locked into the profile and its trailing edge fixed to the wall or batten, ready for the next panel. The final panel in a sequence is cut with 3mm of play so that it can be fitted after the profile is secured, by flexing into place and pushing home To ensure a waterproof seal, an approved silicone sealant should be used on the joints between lead and trailing edge, where it will be effective without being visible. If preffered, a sealant can be used instead of profiles to finish corners. |
